Carman Wellness Connections

Carman and Area Food Pantry

We offer a shopping-style of experience where the client selects his/her own groceries.

If they wish, clients can take time to sit and visit and enjoy a cup of coffee and snacks.

For those who need transportation to and from the Food Pantry, we offer free transportation on the HandiVan during our operating hours. Please phone ahead to arrange for pick-up.

We prefer that people pick up their own groceries rather than sending someone else to get them.

To Volunteer

Please call or email the above contact information if you are interested in volunteering. Volunteers are needed on the Tuesdays before our Food Pantry days when most of the groceries arrive. Drivers pick up food from Harvest Manitoba in Winnipeg and arrive around noon on Tuesday. Volunteers are needed to help unload the trailer, sort the groceries, set up for Thursday and count the quantities of each item. Usually volunteers work from 12:00 noon to approximately 2:00 p.m.

We also need volunteers on our Food Pantry Thursdays. These volunteers help in various ways: accompanying clients around the Food Pantry and assisting them with their shopping, supervising certain areas of the Food Pantry, serving coffee and snacks and visiting with clients, assisting them in using the elevator and loading their groceries, accompanying and assisting  the HandiVan driver.

We also have a volunteer board. At times we are looking for new board members to assist in carrying out the vision and mission of the Carman and Area Food Pantry.

To Donate

Please phone or email using the above contact information, whether you would like to make a financial donation or a donation of groceries or if you have questions. We accept all donations of non-perishable foods whether they are past the best before date or not. We cannot accept expired non-perishable foods. There are collection bins at the Boyne Regional Library, Toews Printing as well as several of the churches.

You can also use the DONATE button on this Carman Wellness Connections website, and include
"Carman Food Pantry" in the memo field.

Food Pantry
Vision Statement

The Carman and Area Food Pantry exists to make healthy food accessible to all in our community.

Food Pantry
Mission

Carman and Area Food Pantry exists to address hunger in our community, primarily by providing food to those in need. We carry out this mission by providing a regular food bank in Carman and surrounding area.

We carry out our mission under the umbrella of Carman Wellness Connections which grants us charitable designation, manages our financial accounts, donations, charitable receipts and expenses. We, in turn, report to them monthly.
