The Food Security Working Group looks at ensuring individuals and families have access to affordable healthy foods options. Partnering with organizations like Direct Farm Manitoba, the Carman Farmers Market, and the Community Garden Club helps to increase awareness, and connect people with food. The Food Security Group also considers increasing opportunities for community members, such as learning about gardening, preserving fruits and vegetables, sharing the harvest and creating connections in our community. We are a Working Group that is also connected with the Carman and Area Food Pantry and have a lot of volunteer opportunities – please reach out if food security is something you are passionate about.
