Transportation accessibility in rural communities is vital for ensuring residents can reach essential services like healthcare and education, access employment opportunities beyond their immediate area, maintain social connections, and improve overall quality of life by reducing isolation and enhancing community resilience. We are learning that transportation in Carman and area can be a challenge for many, and that finding practical accessible, affordable, and sustainable solutions can be complicated. As transportation is not just a Carman and R.M. of Dufferin issue, we will continue to explore how other communities have addressed their transportation needs, and how other communities in the Pembina Valley could work together to develop regional solutions. We would welcome new members to join this Working Group!
